Hydrel FLAME Lighting Technique Included in IES Progress Report 2023

SAF RGBW floodlight with patent-pending FLAME optical engineering construction recognized as a significant contributor to the lighting industry

Atlanta, GA, August 5, 2023 – Hydrel® (www.hydrel.com), an established innovator and provider of outdoor architectural and landscape lighting products, is pleased to announce its SAF RGBW floodlight, with the innovative FLAME lighting technique, has been selected for inclusion in the 2023 IES Progress Report, an annual publication recognizing significant contributions to the global lighting industry.

Published by the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES), a collegial community dedicated to improving the lighting environment, the IES Progress Committee's mission is to track significant new advancements in the art and science of lighting worldwide and prepare a yearly report of achievements for the Society. Acceptance in the Progress Report is based on an impartial judging process by the Committee, which evaluates each submission on its uniqueness, innovation, and significance to the lighting industry.

FLAME is a new play on RGBW LED light. The patent-pending lighting technique offers two beams in one luminaire: a central beam and an outer beam that blend harmoniously to create an impressive accent gradient effect. This unique optical engineering construction is currently available with SAF7, SAF14, and SAF28 floodlights in RGBW. Designers can choose a Narrow, Wide, or Lotus FLAME to create the desired lighting aesthetic.

This year’s report was released at the IES Annual Conference in Chicagoland where the SAF RGBW floodlight with FLAME was shown during the progress report presentation. The luminaire was also on display in the IES booth. All winning entries will also be included in an upcoming issue of LD+A Magazine.
