Hydrel Wins Two GRANDS PRIX DU DESIGN Awards
Tierra Ingrade Family and Wander Family of Pathway and Step Luminaires both receive GOLD CERTIFICATION in 2025 competition
Atlanta, GA, September 22, 2025 – Hydrel® (www.hydrel.com), an established innovator and provider of outdoor architectural, aquatic, and landscape lighting products, is pleased to announce it has received two GRANDS PRIX DU DESIGN Awards in the 18th edition of the competition. Its Tierra Ingrade family and Wander family of pathway and step luminaires both received GOLD CERTIFICATION in the Industrial Design/Lighting Fixture-Outdoor category.
The GRANDS PRIX DU DESIGN Awards is an international competition that celebrates the excellence and talent of creative professionals and firms who have distinguished themselves through exemplary practice. Created in Montreal in 2007, the original mission was to recognize the excellence of Quebec designers and architects. The competition was expanded to include international entries in 2020. A multidisciplinary jury of global judges includes leading professionals, prominent academics, and influential press members.
Tierra offers a higher-density LED array than other ingrades, paired with a precision optic and light-shaping films to achieve a higher intensity for accent lighting and excellent uniformity with no hot spots or shadows for wall washing. As a result, the compact luminaire provides precision uplighting for columns, facades, and trees. Hydrel's patented Flow-Thru technology and hybrid sealing make Tierra IP68-rated for resistance to both water and dust.
Wander is a broad family of luminaires with multiple mounting options to provide visual continuity for pathways, steps, and surface lighting applications. It is uniquely designed to provide a wide lateral distribution that meets IES egress requirements from up to 25 feet on-center fixture spacings. The luminaire also meets the most demanding IES requirements for indoor/outdoor pool decks, the perimeter of rooftop terraces and pathway lighting for urban environments, commercial or seaside applications. With no visible hardware, and attractive aesthetics, it integrates seamlessly into its surroundings.
Award winners will be celebrated at a gala in Montreal on October 16, 2025.
